Meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Stockpiling of Bacteriological (Biological) and Toxin Weapons and on their Destruction was held in Geneva, 4–8 December 2017.
On Dec. 5th, on behalf of CBRS Prof. Zhang Weiwen introduced our mission and research field to the States Parties. He also presented the “Model Code of Conduct for Biological Scientists (draft)”, which was widely discussed by BWC experts and development of a model code of conduct for biological scientists is officially included in the BWC's working plan.
CBRS is the first non-governmental think tank in China engaged in biosafety-related strategies and policies. It is also the first non-governmental organization in China to participate in the BWC conference. Prof. Zhang’s presentation and the “Model Code of Conduct for Biological Scientists (draft)” proposed by CBRS attracted lots of attention.Several organizations hoped to establish a long-term cooperation relationship with CBRS. In the future, our center will make a more close connection with the experts and organizations in the field of biosafety and share our recent achievements and progress with the world.
