To further discuss the risks and develop countermeasures againstthe risks that the African swine fever epidemic may bring to China, a seminar on biosafety and strategy for African swine fever was held on August 12
th in Tianjin University. Mr. Bin Feng, deputy director of Tianjin Customs, Huaji Qiu, director of the Pig Infectious Diseases Research Office of Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, Mr. Zhizhen Dong, deputy director of Tianjin Customs Animal Plant and Food Testing Center, Mr. Dongming Zhao, researcher of Harbin Veterinary Research Institute, Mr. Naifu Wang, a virologist at the Tianjin Customs Animal and Plant and Food Testing Center, and Mr. Yingjin Yuan, vice president of Tianjin University attended the meeting. Teachers and students from the Humanities and Social Sciences Department, the School of Chemical Engineering, the School of Life, the School of Law, the School of Computer Science, and the School of Marxism of Tianjin University also participated in the workshop. The workshop was hosted by Mr. Junyan Zhang, Director of the Department of Social Sciences of Tianjin University.
